The building on Richmond Street
Chatham's casino has its address at 615 Richmond St, inside the municipality of Chatham-Kent. Day-to-day operation falls to Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited. Ontario's model gives OLG the job of conducting and managing casino gaming, with the AGCO acting as regulator of the casinos. OLG places this Richmond Street building in its Southwest region.
Doors first opened on July 18, 2019, for a soft opening. The grand opening followed on August 8, 2019. It was a $36 million build on what Gateway called a former vacant lot. That made it Gateway's first casino built from the ground up, and the first Cascades casino in Ontario.
Before it, local slot play happened at the Dresden Slots at Dresden Raceway, which closed in July 2019. When the new building opened, the Dresden staff moved over to Chatham.

Every day the casino opens at 10 AM, with the slots live from the moment the doors open. Both the floor and the slots shut at 2 AM. Times are local Eastern time, which puts that 2 AM close early on the next calendar day.
The live tables at the Richmond Street casino work to their own hours. Friday through Sunday, dealers are on from noon until 2 AM. At the front door
- The door staff in Chatham admit only guests aged 19 or older who hold valid government-issued photo ID. Provincial law in Ontario keeps everyone under 19 out of casinos, both at the entrance and once inside.
